Martin Hall is a women’s residence hall on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University. Over the summer of 2020, the assistant resident director reached out to me to redesign the Martin Hall logo because their current one had become outdated and did not communicate what they wanted it to. The logo needed to communicate a spirit of inclusivity, solidarity, and community within the residence hall. Martin Hall’s traditional symbol is a pineapple, which represents hospitality and welcome, so the concept of the design emerged from here.
